Barzin

I have a chilltastic band for you today. The band is Barzin. These guys are super chill. Monotreme Records, Barzin’s record label, said it pretty well when they said, “Welcome to the quiet side of pop.” That’s definitely Barzin. They’re epic in their minimalism, if that makes sense at all.
Barzin started as a solo project in 1995 but now has two main contributors, Tony Dekker from Great Lake Swimmers and Suzanne Hancock. They have a lot of others helping them out but they’re the main ones in the band.
Barzin has a couple of albums under their belt so far. The good news is that they have another one coming out very soon, February 16. You can go onto the Monotreme Records website and download some songs there. I put some of them on here, including the one from the upcoming album, Notes To An Absent Lover. If you’re in the mood to relax a bit then put these guys on your itunes.

Barzin is actually a project of Toronto’s Barzin Hosseini, although it is true that Tony Dekker, Mike Findlay and Suzanne Hancock are now part of the band.
