Hello Seahorse!

Hello Seahorse!

OK, I finally listened to some songs from this band Hello Seahorse!. I think I first took notice of them from their name because it was so similar to the band name Hello Saferide. Then I’d notice that it wasn’t Hello Saferide, so I’d get grumpy and not listen to them. I was wrong not to check them out. They seem like a pretty cool band, and the wild thing is that they’re from Mexico. We’re not seeing too many indiepop bands coming from Mexico City these days. That’s refreshing to see.

So you’re wondering what they sound like right? They have their hints of cheesy Casio keyboards along with their more standard four piece indiepop sound with a girl lead singer. It’s good stuff.

There’s some good news too. Go to itunes and you can get the album for like 6 bucks. That’s a deal considering there’s like 11 songs on it. When I saw that, I couldn’t click the buy button fast enough.

Also check out their label, Magic Marker Records. They have a lot of good bands on their like All Girl Summer Fun Band, The Bridal Shop, The Manhattan Love Suicides, and Tullycraft amongst many others. They’re worth checking out.
