Slumberland Records has released a 7 inch from Devon Williams and <a href="/files/8/6/2/4/3/243961-234268/01_Your_Sympathy.mp3″>Your Sympathy is the title track.  Be sure to check out more of his stuff.  I know I’ve been into him for a little while now.

On July 19, Soft Metals will release their debut album.  This is a teaser from it.  The Portland based duo first found each other after Patricia auditioned to help form a band with Ian.  From there, the two started Soft Metals and are about to put out their second release.

Puro Instinct are getting the buzz out for the band early.  Their album won’t be released until September 12.  Their already have the first single out, along with a video for it.  I’ve only heard one song from these guys, but my hunch is that they will get some attention this fall so keep an eye out on them.

As the title of the post says, these are songs I can’t get out of my head.  Lately, Avicii has put me into this big arena sounding house music.  I can’t seem to get enough of it.  He’s definitely a real talent.  Every song I hear from him seems to be killer.  Another group to keep an eye on in the dance music world is Cazzette.  I’ve only heard a couple of tracks they’ve done and they were both impressive.  They are managed by the same guys that manage Avicii.  Besides that, I don’t know much about the guys, but I expect their name will be popping up more frequently in the future.  I hope you enjoy the songs as much as I have been lately.

I was ready for Gem Club to be a band sending me some dance tunes when I saw the name.  You can imagine my surprise when I listened to Breakers and heard a mellow piano song that bands like Barzin and Bon Iver would be proud of.  I’m anxious to hear what the rest will be like but I’ll have to wait until September 27, for the album to be released.

The Acid House Kings have a new single out, just in time for summer.  This is the second single off their album, Music Sounds Better With You.  I do enjoy the album, but I must say, it had to grow on me some.  Along with the single, is a video.  It was recorded on Super 8 by Kent Angergård and Britt-Marie Angergård and it’s showing Niklas Angergård as a kid.  I thought that was a nice touch to the video.

Acid House Kings – Under Water

As most of you know, Adele has been remixed about a million times at this point.  It’s, honestly, starting to get overdone.  But her voice is so amazing and I find myself still listening to them.  This remix, from Thomas Gold, is probably the best one I’ve heard yet.  It has really blown me away.

Labrador Record’s band Pallers is finally getting around to releasing their first album.  I’m really excited about it.  I’ve always been a big fan of synth pop.  Then when you put in the fact that Johan from Acid House Kings, Club 8, and The Legends is involved then I feel pretty safe that the album will be impressive.  The first single, Come Rain, Come Sunshine, will be officially released on July 26.  Besides that, I’m not sure when the actual album is getting released.  I’ll let you guys know when I found out more.

I have one of the last free releases from The Arctic Flow here for you guys.  The next release we can expect from Brian will be the first, as far as I know, item he’s put up for sale.  I can’t wait to hear what he’ll have in store for us.  In the mean time, check out <a href="/files/8/6/2/4/3/243961-234268/01_Raincheck.mp3″>Raincheck.

The song is a true story about asking a girl out on a date and getting rejected.  He said, he wasn’t very shocked at the time.  He was used to rejection.  But don’t get too bummed out for Brian just yet.  It has a happy ending.  He went on to marry the girl.

On August 2 Letting Up Despite Great Faults will be releasing their Paper Chase ep.  I really hope you guys know about this band already, because they are such a good band.  Their blend of guitar based pop and electro styling gives them a very unique sound.  I’ve always been a fan of synth pop music so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I love this band.

Lately, I can’t seem to get enough of the 60′s inspired pop songs.  I think I’ve had Best Coast and Tennis stuck on repeat for the last month.  So I got really excited when I found a new band that plays 60′s surf rock inspired tunes. 

Shimmering Stars is a four piece band out of Vancouver.  The band started recording in the spring of 2010, after stumbling upon some old live footage of the Everly Brothers.  That first recording environment helped establish the band’s garage pop sound.

The band’s album, Violent Hearts, will be released on September 13.  I know, i was a bit bummed out to hear it was so far from now.  We’ll have to be patient little kids though.  I have the feeling it will be worth the wait.
